In this episode, we start the conversation regarding prostate cancer and mental health. Our guest is Hakim Asadi. Hakim is a LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker), a therapist, educator, and founder of Beyond Living, where he integrates clinical practice with a spiritual and social justice lens.
For over 12 years, Hakim has worked at the intersections of mental health, identity, and healing–drawing on both his professional training and lived experience as a Black man to create culturally affirming spaces for growth and transformation.

A graduate of the University at Albany’s MSW program, Hakim currently facilitates the national Black men’s prostate cancer virtual support group in partnership with ZERO Prostate Cancer and serves as a behavioral health clinician at NAESM, Inc., supporting individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
